Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Jivaha Pty Ltd ACN 701 587 546 (we, us or our) through the Nirana mobile application (App), our website at https://nirana.app (Website), and the related services we make available from time to time (together, the Services).

Who does this Privacy Policy apply to?

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • individuals who download, open or use the App, whether or not they create an account;
  • individuals who hold a Nirana account or subscription; and
  • visitors to our Website.

A note about what Nirana is

Nirana is a relaxation and reflection tool. It is not a medical device, it does not provide diagnosis, therapy or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional or emergency care. We have designed the App to collect as little personal information as possible, and the sections below describe exactly what we do and do not collect.

What information do we collect?

Account information

You can create an account with your email address, or by signing in with Google (and, on iPhone, with Apple). If you create an account, we collect:

  • your email address. If you sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email”, we receive a private relay address created by Apple instead of your real one;
  • if you sign up with email, a password. It is handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a cryptographic hash. We never see, store or have the ability to recover your password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we do not receive a password at all;
  • a name, if one is available: the first name you choose to give during onboarding, or otherwise the name your Google or Apple account shares with us at sign-in. Giving a name is optional; and
  • a unique account identifier, which our systems use to recognise your account and link it to your subscription.

Using Nirana without an account

If you subscribe and choose to continue “on this phone” without creating an account, we do not collect your name or email address. Your subscription is recorded by our subscription management provider against a random identifier generated on your device, and your progress stays on your device. If you later create an account, that subscription and the progress kept on your phone move into it.

Activity and progress information

The App has a setting called “Sync my progress” (Settings → Sync my progress) with three choices:

  • Sync to my account — the default when you have an account. A copy of your progress is stored against your account so it follows you to a new device;
  • This phone only — your progress is counted on your device and nothing is sent to us. This is the setting for anyone without an account; and
  • Don’t keep anything — nothing is counted at all.

When progress is saved to your account, we store:

  • items you have saved;
  • the sessions and activities you have recently opened;
  • the days on which you have used the App; and
  • a record for each session you play, containing the activity name, its category, its length, how many seconds you spent in it and whether you finished it.

How a session left you feeling

At most once a day, when a session ends, the App may ask two optional questions: “How do you feel now?” (Much better, A little better, About the same or Worse) and “Was this what you needed?” (Yes or Not quite). You can answer either, both or neither.

If your progress is saved to your account, your answers are sent to us with the name and category of the session they followed, so that we can tell which sessions people find useful. If it is not, your answers are neither sent nor kept.

We treat these answers as information about you and keep them with your account. You can remove them at any time by deleting your account, or stop them being collected by choosing “This phone only” or “Don’t keep anything”.

Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription or start a free trial, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google, not by us. Through our subscription management provider we receive the status of your subscription — which plan, whether it is active, in a trial, renewing or expired, and when it ends — linked to your account identifier (or the random identifier described above). We never receive or store your card number, bank details or billing address.

To let you keep using the App without a connection, the App keeps a copy of your subscription status on your device.

Vision board images

The App lets you search stock photography to build a vision board. When you search, the words you type are sent through our service to our image provider so it can return results. We do not store your searches. The images you choose are stored on your device as part of your board.

Device and technical information

We record the platform you are using (for example iOS or Android) with your account. Like any internet service, our providers also receive technical information such as your IP address and device type when the App connects to them — for example when a session’s audio is streamed — and may keep it in short-lived server logs for security and reliability. We do not use any analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software in the App.

Reminders and device features

The App can schedule reminders on your device. These are created and shown by your phone; we do not send them, and we do not know whether you opened one. You can turn them off in the App or in your device settings.

Some games use your device’s motion sensor so the picture responds when you tilt the phone, and the App can use vibration for gentle feedback. Neither leaves your device and neither is recorded.

Sharing from the App

Some activities, such as Create & Flow and Night Lights, let you share an image you have made. Sharing opens your device’s own share sheet, and the image goes directly to the app or person you choose. We do not receive a copy.

Kept only on your device

The following stay on your device and are never sent to us: the selections you make to get a suggestion (such as how you are feeling or what you need), your vision board, your favourites and timer settings, your Daily Manifestation candle, game settings and scores, accessibility and display preferences, and the phrases shown or released in games.

What we deliberately do not collect

So that there is no ambiguity, the following are by design:

  • The games and activities contain no free-text entry. You are never asked to type a phrase, reflection or activity, so we do not collect written content of that kind.
  • When you tell the App how you are feeling in order to receive a suggestion, that selection stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us or stored against your account. This is different from the questions asked after a session, described above.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not embed third-party advertising, analytics or social media tracking in the App.
  • We do not collect your location, contacts, photos library, microphone or camera, health records, clinical information or government identifiers.

Types of information

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) defines types of information, including Personal Information and Sensitive Information.

Personal Information means information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information or opinion is true or not, and whether it is recorded in a material form or not. If information does not identify you and cannot reasonably be used to identify you, it will generally not be treated as Personal Information for the purposes of the Privacy Act.

Sensitive Information is defined in the Privacy Act as including information or an opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

We do not seek to collect Sensitive Information through the Services. We are conscious that a wellbeing app could invite it, so the App is built to avoid it: the feeling selections that guide our suggestions remain on your device, and there is no free-text field in which such information could be entered. If Sensitive Information is nonetheless provided to us, it will only be used for the primary purpose for which it was provided, for a directly related secondary purpose, or with your consent or where required or authorised by law.

How we collect your Personal Information

  • We collect Personal Information directly from you when you create an account, enter your name during onboarding, use the App, answer the optional questions after a session, or contact us.
  • If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and, where shared, your name from that provider.
  • We collect subscription status from Apple or Google through our subscription management provider when you subscribe, start a trial, renew, cancel or restore a purchase.
  • Where reasonable and practicable, we collect your Personal Information only from you. If we are given information about you by a third party, we will take reasonable steps to make you aware of it.

Purpose of collection

We collect and use Personal Information to:

  • create and administer your account and recognise you when you sign in on another device;
  • provide, maintain, secure and improve the Services, including understanding which sessions people find helpful;
  • keep your saved items and progress available to you across devices, where your progress is saved to your account;
  • confirm and manage your subscription entitlement;
  • respond to your enquiries and provide support;
  • send you service-related messages about your account, and — where permitted by law and where you would reasonably expect it — occasional emails about the App, such as a gentle note if you have not opened it for a while. We send no more than one such note in any week, and every one contains a simple means of opting out; and
  • comply with our legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make it available to anyone for their own marketing.

Who we disclose your Personal Information to

We use a small number of service providers to run the Services. Each is given only the information it needs:

  • our authentication provider (Supabase), which manages sign-in and stores your email address, your account identifier and, for email accounts, your hashed password;
  • our edge computing provider (Cloudflare), which hosts the service that sits between the App and our systems;
  • our customer relationship platform (HighLevel), which holds your account record — your email address, your name if given, your platform and, if your progress is saved to your account, your saved items, session history and answers to the questions after a session — and which sends the emails described above;
  • our subscription management provider (RevenueCat), together with Apple and Google, which tell us whether your subscription is active;
  • our stock photography provider (Pexels), which receives the search terms you type when building a vision board, but no information that identifies you; and
  • our content delivery network, which stores the audio, video and image files and serves them to your device when you play a session.

We may also disclose Personal Information where we are required or authorised to do so by law, or to protect the security or integrity of the Services.

Each of these providers operates under its own terms and privacy policy. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers, but we do not control their independent operations.

How long we keep your information

  • Account information, progress and answers are kept for as long as you have an account, and are deleted when you delete it.
  • Subscription records may be kept by Apple, Google and our subscription management provider for as long as they are required for tax, accounting and refund purposes.
  • Information kept only on your device is removed when you delete the App, or sooner if you clear it in the App (for example Settings → Clear my dashboard).

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the App, under Me → Settings → Delete my account, or on our Website at nirana.app/delete-account.html, or by emailing contact@nirana.app. Deleting your account removes your sign-in, your account record and the progress, history and answers stored with it. Copies held in our providers’ routine backups are overwritten in the ordinary course, usually within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google; please cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings (the App links there from Settings → Manage plan).

Security, access and correction

  • We store your Personal Information in a way that reasonably protects it from unauthorised access, misuse, modification or disclosure. Information is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to those who need it to operate the Services.
  • When we no longer require your Personal Information for the purpose for which it was collected, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it or to de-identify it. Some information may be retained for longer where we are required to keep it for legal, tax or record-keeping reasons.
  • The Australian Privacy Principles permit you to obtain access to the Personal Information we hold about you in certain circumstances (Australian Privacy Principle 12), and allow you to correct inaccurate Personal Information subject to certain exceptions (Australian Privacy Principle 13).
  • You can change your name at any time in the App. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and the information held against it, contact us at contact@nirana.app.
  • We will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where applicable.

If you live outside Australia

Nirana is available in many countries. Wherever you are, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export the information we hold about you, or object to or restrict how we use it, by contacting contact@nirana.app. We will not treat you differently for doing so.

If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: performing our contract with you (your account, your progress and your subscription); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Services (for example understanding which sessions people find useful); your consent, where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Complaint procedure

If you have a complaint about the way we have handled your Personal Information, please contact us at contact@nirana.app. Your complaint will be considered by our Privacy Officer, who may seek further information from you to clarify your concerns. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we agree that your complaint is well founded, we will, in consultation with you, take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Overseas transfer

Some of the providers described above store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. It is not possible to identify every country to which your Personal Information may be sent. Where we disclose Personal Information to an overseas recipient, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the disclosure complies with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by securing a contractual commitment from the recipient to handle the information consistently with those principles where the recipient is in a jurisdiction without comparable data protection laws.

Children

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Automated processing

The App suggests sessions and activities based on the selections you make and the activities you have opened. These suggestions are generated automatically, are made on your device from your own selections, and do not involve decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, our technology or the law. The current version will always be available in the App and on our Website, and any update takes effect when published. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell you in the App or by email before it applies.
